The most common question Beth hears is:

"WHY A CACTUS?"  Because Cacti are resilient. They have lasted hundreds of years in the Sonoran desert amidst changes in weather, landscape, and population growth. The Cactus adapts, even as it protects itself with the armor we call thorns.

And, at its core, the cactus remains one of the survival secrets of the harsh desert. If you can get past the thorns; if you are courageous and patient enough, you will get to the sweet center, and to the fruit. That cactus fruit has saved many a traveler over the centuries.

It's a reminder that you have a sweet center, too. Work on yourself. We've all got thorns. We all have challenges and issues. You are not alone. Get past the thorns of your life and you will find sustenance. You will find joy. You will make it through all the insanity.

Hey - just remember, we only have maybe 80 trips around the sun on this planet. So, a couple of the trips are going to be harder than others. There's always tomorrow. There's always Hope. There's always a new way and a new day to think about it.

The world is insane. No one said the world is fair, they only say it's round. We need as many healthy people as we can get. So work on your own insanity. Get healthy. Share your lessons, share your grief, share your joy, share your pain. Together, we'll all make it through this! And -no one gets out alive. So enjoy the ride! Yeeee haaaaa.

Most of the cactus pics you see on the sidebar of this website are the giant Saguaro Cactus. Some of these are hundreds of years old. I jumped in my truck and took a ride around the Sonoran Desert near my house. Most of these photos were taken by me within a half hour distance from my house. The One below is the famous Prickly Pear cactus. Those yellow flowers turn to fruit, and both the flower and the fruit are edible! IF you can get past the thorns.
