Quick note - Hi, yes we did skip an issue. With all the insanity in cyberspace these past few weeks, we thought it would be best to let things calm down before we added to the mass of emails that were sent out due to the 6 v*iruses that were sent out in one week. It looks like things have settled down, and here we are again. As always, you are free to subscribe or unsubscribe as you wish. And please send this on to a friend if you think they will enjoy it. Thanks, Beth

Beth's Brain Food:

The Gift of Adversity

"What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." Nietzsche said that. For the most part he is right. Except that he left out one word… Choice. Adversity can make you stronger -- or not. You can learn from it -- or not. You can take your lessons and help someone else with their troubles -- or not.

Adversity is a powerful teacher for those who pay attention. Each tragic, traumatic or terrible circumstance of your life can be turned around in some way for some good during your brief stay on this planet. You can learn from….

News You can Use

A Health Tip-
Did you know that Blueberries contain more antioxidants than any other fruit or vegetable? The healthy compounds in blueberries belong to the flavonoid family: phytochemicals called anthocyanins. Besides combating the free-radical damage linked to heart disease and cancer, anthocyanins may boost brainpower-at least in rats. When fed blueberry extract for nine weeks, older rats outperformed a control group at such tasks as navigating mazes and balancing on rotating logs. And when older rats ate a blueberry-enriched diet for four months, they performed as well in memory tests as younger rats. Blueberries also fight off urinary-tract infections by preventing E. coli bacteria from adhering to the bladder wall. (source: CompuServe notes)
