Greetings!

Keep on going and Allow

This Month: Keep on going and Allow!

If there is anything we learned in 2001, it's don't quit when the chips are down. That year I'd had my house on the market so long that I finally sold it at a $50,000 loss. Three months later the market popped and, had I waited, I would have made money.

This is a strange time. We have become so entangled with the world marketplace that we don't know what to expect. Even the smartest economists on the block are disagreeing about the possible outcomes.

So, this year my philosophy is to Keep on Going and Allow things to unfold in a healthy way. I'm cautiously optimistic because I believe in the American Spirit. We have bounced back from Depressions and Wars, from McCarthyism and Racism. We lose ourselves sometimes, but we always find our way back.

We need to remember who we are - both individually and as a country. Take a deep breath and pay attention to all the good that is around us. Allow the good to come into your life. Shut off the negative self talk. Shut off the negative TV ads. Watch television shows and movies that celebrate the good in human beings, the best in the world.

I awoke this morning to one of my favorite songs by Rodney Atkins. "If you're goin' through hell, keep on goin', don't slow down, keep on movin'..." it's actually pretty good advice. Too many times we let ourselves get discouraged and we stop in the middle of the mess, sit down in the muck, and suffer more than we have to.

Put one foot in front of the other. Keep your wits about you. And have some faith that this will all shake out. You still live in a pretty cool place with wonderful friends and family who love you. You still have some good things in your life. Focus there, and remember to allow the good to come to you no matter what those newscasters say.

Take care of yourself and have a Happy Hallowe'en!
Beth

The Word From Xena!

Xena_sun

I don't know why you two-leggeds have to be reminded to keep going. What else are you going to do? I come from hunting stock. We long hair Chihuahuas were bred to go after the little varmints that two leggeds couldn't reach. So we have it in our genes to stay in shape and never give up.

'Course, when Beth had a little mouse visiting here, I didn't chase him, cuz he was so dang cute. He'd sneak some of my food and hide it in the corner for me. Then Beth would think that I'd eaten all of it and would give me more. So I could eat my food and then go into the corner where my little mousie pet had saved me more. Worked pretty well till the little guy started leaving "signs" he was there (if you get my drift!) Now I have to paw at my dish to tell Beth to get over here and put more food in the dish. Dumb mouse.

Anyway, if you get discouraged, do what me and Lezard do. Go lay on the floor in the kitchen and stare at the ceiling. Lezard is such a dope, sometimes he lays there on his back for half an hour. His fat tummy all hangin' out and his feet splayed like a beached crab. But we always feel better when we get up. Then we go and finish whatever we were doing. And you can too!

So - keep on going! It will be ok. Promise!
Hugs,
And happy Hallowe'en!
