Greetings!

You deserve a short break. Take a deep breath, relax those shoulders, and enjoy this "Moment for You."

It's nuts out there. You probably noticed. Crazy economy. Fuel prices over the roof. Politics have people a little jumpy. Mortgages, immigration, healthcare, ARRRRGH!

What do we do? How do we cope? How do we do more than cope? There has to be a silver lining, a rainbow, somewhere in the middle of this storm.

Difficult times are opportunities for growth. They are open doors for learning and refining who we are and how we live. Perhaps most of us got too far out on the limb. It's time to inch back towards our center and choose what matters most.

Choose. That's the key word. What's important to you? What can you learn from this? Where can you pull in a little and put energies where they matter most?

I notice when I choose something I am also not choosing something else. If I choose to be financially healthier, I'm choosing not to spend my money on things that don't matter. If I choose to be physically healthier, I choose not to spend too much time being a couch potato.

Choice is an interesting thing. If it's a forced choice, or we have half-baked commitment to the choice, it often doesn't work. But when we commit with all our energy to that choice, magic happens.

In order to create success out of the chaos around you, find one or two small changes that need to happen in your life. Give your energy to doing what it takes to make that happen. Don't go overboard and try to change your entire life all at once. Your head might explode. Just a small change here, a small choice there: 10% more exercise today. One less cup of coffee. Pack your lunch three times this week. Like that.

Success comes out of chaos one little choice after another. If you think you have to do a huge thing, you'll become overwhelmed and may not have the energy or will power to see it through. There's nothing like small successes to feed big ones.

And remember, you'll make it through this, just like you made it through all the crazy times in your life up to now. And you'll do it the same way, one breath, one step at a time.

Stay happy and healthy!
Beth

The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all. ~Leo Rosten

Thank you Beth. I enjoyed your presentation immensely; by far one of the most informative and best presented at the conference. I look forward to learning more.

I can tell you two-leggeds how to make your lives easier: Stop buying so much stuff! You have too much, then you forget you even have it. You're like little kids. You see something on the TV and you want it.

Don't tell me you really need it. You aren't even using the stuff you get. You buy it, then you play with it for awhile, then you find a place to store it. Then you find it every once in awhile when you clean.

I own a bed, a pillow, some bedding, a collar and leash, a feeding dish, and three duckies. That's it. I've owned most of it half my life. Nuff.

So pare down that pile of things and spend more time enjoying this really short life you have! You'll be happier, have less bills, and you won't complain so much and hurt my ears!
Love,
Xena

Remember to take a little 'me' time once in awhile.

A hui hou, (till we meet again)
