"When we truly care for ourselves, it becomes
possible to care far more profoundly about other
people. The more alert and sensitive we are to our
own needs, the more loving and generous we can be
toward others."
-- Eda LeShan ~~~~~~~~~ "Auntie Beth, how many Christmases did you have
so
far?"
I figured five-year old Alisha was just trying to guess my age. So I told her. Then her sweet voice stopped me in my tracks: "Well, how many more do you get?" ~~~~~ Enjoy your holiday. You don't know how many you have left... |

Here's my recipe for relieving the stress of the
holidays:
Think like a dog!
It's gloomy outside? Take a nap!
Someone upset at you? Wag your tail and give them your cutest face (if you upset them, try it - they just might forgive you!) You could try licking their face, but that may just get you into trouble. Exhausted from spending too much money? Cuddle up to someone you love. That's worth more than a present anyway. You can both take a nap. Feeling all waca waca about the traffic, rude salespeople, grumpy crankypants? Sigh, lay on the couch, and take a nap. AND - when you aren't feeling good, check to make sure you are drinking enough water and eating right. It sure helps me feel better. Anyway, thanks for reading this! Happy Holidays!!
When you wake up from your nap, send me a note at
xena@bethterry.com, and
I will make sure and answer it.

This issue is dedicated to Dick Tribble, a good
friend who passed away on December 9. His sweet
spirit and generous heart lives on in all of us at
the National Speakers Association. And his passing
reminded me that it really isn't about the
presents... it's about the presence. Enjoy
your holidays and savor the times you have with
loved ones, no matter how frustrating they may
be...
Take care of yourself, and have a Happy
Holiday Season!
