Finding Spring Inside You!
Listen to this portion of the newsletter:
Spring - ah beautiful spring. A time for tilling soil, planting seeds, tossing off the old weights of winter. We aren't just talking about your yard. What are you planting now in your head? Every choice tills the soil for the future. Every attitude fertilizes the ground. Every muttered word is a seed planted. What will your harvest be?
Take time to create Spring inside you. It doesn't matter if Mother Nature hasn't yet caught up. She might be sending snow blessings to your corner of the world, or blistery winds, but you are the Mother Nature of your own soul.
Take time today to sit in stillness. Feel the weight of your internal winter melt away. Hand over your problems to a higher source and revel in your aliveness. Feel yourself sitting comfortably in your chair. Notice that you are firmly planted and be grateful for the ground under your feet. Close your eyes and allow your senses to take in all the sounds and smells of your environment. Feel the air on your skin; the lightness of your being.
Trust in the 'Precision of the Universe.' Notice that many weights of the past eventually melted away. It was never really as fearful or terrible as you thought. Even those that were terrible finally passed. Here you are now, reading this, in relative comfort. No one repealed your birthday. And don't worry about what others think: most people never take the time to think about you… they are wrapped up in their own problems!
Right now, in this moment, ask: "What shall I Harvest?" And then, "What can I plant now to make sure that harvest becomes reality?"
Focus on the big picture. Focus on your dreams and don't get caught up in the small stuff. Leave off the whining. Stop all negative muttering. Get over the wrongs and resentments of the past. Have the intention of creating wonderful harvests for your future in your life and your work. Take charge of your Inner Spring and let the planting begin!
Take care of Yourself! We need you, and we need you healthy!
All the best,
Beth

The "word" from Xena
|
It is not often that I get scared. I am, after all, Xena Princess Warrior the 6th. I have taken on Rottweilers that outweighed me by 50 times, and scared them off. But I was terrified last week. One of Beth's friends is a Vet who scolded her for not getting me "fixed." I heard that word, but don't really know what needed fixin'! So, suddenly one day, there I was, sitting on a very cold metal table and a lady was taking my temperature. Next thing I know, I'm wakin' up all shaky and weird feeling with my tummy shaved. I will bet some of YOU have had that happen. Well, maybe not exactly the same, but you know who you are.
Beth came right in the room and scooped me up and started murmuring in my ear. I was a little woozy for days. It was interesting, lots of starry things floating around my eyes, and some funny pills that Beth tried to hide in my food (but I knew what she was doing. I just didn't care!) The best part is I got carried around for a whole week and got a special place to snuggle at night with my ducky. One day I was really really afraid. I was all hot and shaky and couldn't focus. The hotter I got, the scareder I got and the harder I panted. Beth got lots of wet stuff in her eyes. I don't think she got a lot of work done for a couple of days. That is why we are late with this. I couldn't type worth a darn. 'Course, can't anyway, so - Oh well!
The best news is that I can't take a bath for at least another week. That is way cool! And I feel pretty good now. My bark is louder and I think I am taller.
So - hey - if you are scared, just find a special place to snuggle with someone you love and wait it out. It does get better. And you are prob'ly making stuff up about how bad it is anyway.
Click here to email me (Xena)! (You don't think humans are the only ones to get fan mail do you?)
Love, Xena (The real Chihuahua at Beth's house!)
PS - thanks for all the letters and pictures! I knew Beth's readers were smart people. You all have great looking four-leggeds living with you. That's why your life is going so well
